Michael Schiavo Urges "No" Vote on Amendment 2
ST. PETERSBURG - Progress Florida today released an internet ad of Michael Schiavo urging voters to reject Amendment 2, the so-called "marriage" amendment, at the polls this November. The Florida Family Policy Council, a radical rightwing organization that also inserted itself into the Schiavo family's well-publicized ordeal, backs the amendment.
"The same people who thought they knew what was best for my wife Terri, are once again trying to tell others how to live," says Schiavo in the ad. "As a former Republican, I think if the people behind Amendment 2 really cared about respecting a legal marriage between husband and wife, they would have respected mine."
The ad may be viewed online at www.ProgressFlorida.org/NoOn2.

"Respect"
Hello, I'm Michael Schiavo.
I'm troubled by Amendment 2 on Florida's ballot this November.
This thing they're calling the "Marriage" Amendment.
The same people who thought they knew what was best for my wife Terri, are once again trying to tell others how to live.
This time they want to jeopardize legal protections guaranteed in our state's Constitution.
It's hard to respect people who only pay lip service to family values.
As a former Republican, I think if the people behind Amendment 2 really cared about respecting a legal marriage between husband and wife, they would have respected mine.
Take it from me: We don't want government involved in these personal decisions.
Show true family values by voting No on Amendment 2 this Election.
